    Somehow Bloom is a lot easier to like than Stephen Dedalus, isn't he?

    There's less to dislike, that's for sure. I mean we're literally in Bloom's head for most of the book, and I still feel like everything I know about Bloom comes from the Cliffs notes I'm read alongside the book.

    So, I went and listened to a few chapters of the audiobook, which is actually really helpful for some of the stream of consciousness stuff. The readers are volunteers so the audio quality varies. SO this one was apparently recorded in a bar and the funniest incidental background noise was during the funeral when you could hear "We are the Champions" from the jukebox in the background.
